The TEXAS HEATWAVE AEROBATIC TEAM (T.H.A.T.)thrills crowds across seven states in the South Central Region. We are one of only 21 model aircraft show teams sponsored by the Academy of Model Aeronautics headquartered in Muncie Indiana. We are sanctioned and chartered by the AMA, a Division of the National Aeronautic Association, for the purpose of exposing people of all ages to model aviation and in turn to aviation in general. We are also members of the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS).
Air show teams have been organized across the United States and Canada to promote the rapidly growing hobby of building and flying radio controlled aircraft. Based in the Dallas area, we are the only AMA Show Team in Texas to have performed in front of over 3.5 million spectators in more than 200 events over the past 6 years.
We can help ICAS put on a more diverse air show. The Texas HeatWave show makes a great opening act before the full-scale action begins. We can do last minute substitutions to fill any dynamic problems or dead time during your show. Nothing is worse than dead time at a big air show and having the Texas HeatWave in your lineup gives an airshow host and the air boss some flexibility in keeping the show moving.
We have a professional static display, complete with a mobile flight simulator and wonderful UAV aircraft, is opened up to be viewed by the public. Our crowd friendly pilots stay all day to answer questions and sign autographs.
